This command post, ordered by Desautel for its client NEMA (National Emergency Management Agency), will take place in Mongolia to allow firefighters to coordinate their actions on the field. Assembled on a Renault Trucks 4x4 chassis, our bodywork makes this vehicle perfectly suited to overcome obstacles and permits its users to work off-road, no matter the season.
Thanks to this mobile unit and its facilities, firefighters will be able to receive the information from the field, develop an appropriate strategy and to communicate it to their teams.
To deal with extreme temperatures, ranging from -50°C in winter to +40°C in summer, this vehicle has been design to be adapted to this extreme conditions. Therefore, it is equiped with an air conditionning system and a Webasto type forced-air heating system inside and with an outside awning to protect from the sun and the bad weather conditions.
The arrangements have also been designed to meet the constraints imposed by the thick winter clothes worn by the firefighters. For example, large closets for storing these outfits have been installed inside the mobile unit. And whiteboards, present on the side of the vehicle, have been specially carefully considered to be easily manipulated, even with large gloves.
A mobile unit with a fully equipped meeting room
Inside the mobile unit, there is first of all a work and meeting room that can receive up to 6 people. Designed to develop strategies, it is equipped with a large central table having a connection block with integrated USB and HDMI ports, a high-definition television, a camera for videoconferences, a printer and two removable whiteboards. Once the strategy is finalized, these boards can then be hung outside the command post to brief the teams on the field.
And a communication and rest area
A second room has also been set up to be used as a communication area which allows its users to communicate with their colleagues using a radio system. It also benefits from an individual desk and a whiteboard to work in the best conditions.
And, thanks to its 4 foldable beds with lower storage, this room is optimized to also serve as a sleeping area.
