Thanks to the support of the regional health agency and the municipality of Paris, the Gaia Paris association renews its mobile units, in addition to fixed centers. With these two new mobile units, the association continue to gain mobility to provide better care for people suffering from addictions.
Two complementary light commercial vehicles
To meet a wide range of needs, the Gaia association has equipped itself with two mobile units with different uses.
The 1st unit is a reception, support and risk reduction center for drug users. Staff members can thus welcome people in good conditions in order to:
- deliver risk reduction material,
- offer rapid screening tests for hepatitis and HIV,
- provide primary care,
- assess and guide people.
The 2nd unit is a care and reception center dedicated to the addiction prevention. It provides substitution treatments and other treatments necessary for medico-social care adapted to the most precarious users, 7 days a week.
The quality of our panels ensures the confidentiality of individual interviews and their robustness is suited for intensive use, which is essential for these mobile places exposed to daily urban conditions.
A mobile solution adapted to the urban environment
These two light commercial vehicles of 3,5 metric tons enable the association to get as close as possible to consumers to provide them some help, listening and care. Indeed, these trucks are perfectly suited to the constraints of urban areas. Their small size allows them:
- to park easily,
- to be driven with a car license only,
- to move easily in cramped neighbourhoods,
- to be autonomous on battery without connection to the parking place,
- ensure increased security for the staff of the association and its users thanks to an access control, an alarm system and an emergency fallback possible in just a few minutes
To optimise the space and every inch of comfort, custom-made furniture have been designed and manufactured in our workshops with sturdy and light materials. Thus, the furniture adapts perfectly to the vehicle to ensure maximum functionality while meeting the constraints of its users and offering multiple storage spaces.
Gaia Paris is an association that has been managing two medico-social establishments in the city of Paris since 2006. In view of the growing need of proximity with its patients, it was essential for Gaia to continue its mobility action to meet current needs and the mobility of households.
Thanks to these new mobile devices, the association continues to reduce the risks associated with drug use and supports users to take better account of their health.
