We had announced the order of this group product in November 2018 for Serbia. It is composed of a blood collection unit to meet voluntary blood donors and a cab modification to transport the entire medical team.
It stops in various towns and villages in the Vojvodina region.
In 4 months, the unit had already carried out just over a hundred blood donation campaigns, totalling 2500 bags collected (out of 50000 bags collected annually for the CNTS), also registering an increase of +14% in new donors.
MD Solutions, our distributor in Serbia, and the National Blood Transfusion Centre organised a forum in early November dedicated to the relevance of mobility solutions for blood collection. It was an opportunity to present our 4-bed blood donation unit to more than 70 decision makers in this field. The managers of the transfusion centres present were particularly attracted by the quality and ergonomics of the proposed solution and in particular the possibility of boarding the medical team in the modified cabin.
A look back at the inauguration of this blood donation truck
It was inaugurated on Friday 28 June in Novi Sad, Serbia by the local authorities and the Blood Transfusion Centre.
Donations started the same day!
Regional President of the Government Igor Mirovic and regional health secretary Dr. Zoran Gojkovic, in the name of the Serbian regional Government of Vojvodina handed over this blood donation mobile unit to Institute for Blood Transfusion of Vojvodina.
It is a special-purpose vehicle for blood collection with four blood donation chairs for blood donors and five seats for members of the field transfusion team.
This special vehicle would allow voluntary blood donors throughout Vojvodina, in modern terms, to adequately carry out its mission of representing modern heroism of our time - to donate blood. Thank you all, the staff at the Vojvodina Blood Transfusion Institute and all voluntary blood donors for their humanity and the way they fulfill the lofty blood collection mission. Provincial Government would continue its support for this special healthcare field and activity.
On this occasion, blood donors, who donated blood for more than 100 times, have received the acknowledgments.
